'CHAIR RIDER II'
Dimension: 5.12'' x 7.09'' x 3.35''
Certification of Authenticity: Apricus Art Collection
Signature: Signed by Artist
Chair Rider II is running along, somewhat quickly, with her saucepan full of frogspawn. She and her running chair might be in a race together, but they are definitely keen to get somewhere! If only we could all run along so freely on our chairs.
This sculpture is made of a beautiful translucent British eco-resin, which allows for interesting glimpses through to the armature, or internal structure of the sculpture, and is mounted on a clear, flat acrylic base. It is 13cm long by 18cm tall and 8.5cm wide including the base, and is one of a limited edition of 24. The sculpture is initialled on the inside of the heal of the back left chair leg, and comes with a signed letter of authentication, stating its edition number. It is the right size to sit on our desk, shelves or mantlepiece and look as if it is travelling across its own landscape there.
Although the sculpture looks delicate, it actually much more robust than it appears, as well as being lightweight, and can withstand small knocks and movements in the home. I package it in a sturdy cardboard box, and it travels very well by courier.
Chair Rider I is one of a pair of sculptures, with Chair Rider II, and they run along together.

Artist Statement
Holly Bennett makes sculpture of people, animals and unusual creatures, which she uses as metaphors to tell an internal narrative. She works with great consideration, integrity and humour, and communicates through direct visual impact and shared emotive response. She creates sculpture that is exciting and moving, and which speaks to an audience who is interested in engaging with areas of deeper significance within our lives.
The original sculpture is modelled in wax and then cast as a limited edition into a vibrant British-made ecoresin, which creates an aesthetic that keeps the beautiful translucent qualities of the wax, while remaining accessible to a wide audience
