'WAVES' oil on canvas

Robert Melzmuf was born in Middletown Connecticut in 1960 and attended the Hartford Art School and Southern Connecticut State University, B.A. in 1984. After graduating he worked at the New Britain Museum of American Art. In 1991 he moved to New York City where he continues paint and maintain a studio while working for art galleries. In 2002 he was awarded a residency to the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson Vermont. In 2018 and 2019 he participated in Le Festival de Bargemon in Provence France. In 2021 he exhibited at The Other Art Fair in Brooklyn and the Festival D'Art Contemporian in L'Issembres, Provence France and 2022 in contemporary art fairs in France in Seillians and Rocquebrune-sur-Argens. He is in the collection of the Coupelozos Museum in Athens Greece. Melzmuf has shown in galleries around the United States including Chicago, Philadelphia, New Haven, and Washington DC. His solo shows in New York were at 55 Mercer Gallery, Giacobetti Paul Gallery, 2/20 Gallery, and Industrious Brooklyn; in France at the Galerie du Festival in Rocquebrune-sur- Argens. Group shows in New York he participated in include Pace Gallery, Sideshow, Calico, and Barbara Greene Gallery; in France at Beddington Fine Arts.
