“ Warrior Queen “ ( mother of all battles ), came into existence when I heard the term mother of all battles, which was used during the Iraq conflict.
This was a phrase that captured my thoughts.
I began this work in clay, spending several years searching for the answer to the term “ mother of all battles “, finally producing the work you now see, using resin, that is tough and durable.
Then I started the process of ‘ dressing ‘ this work, with mosaic predominantly using disregarded broken mirror. I love this material, as in my opinion it creates movement , by catching the light and reflecting it around the work. Then I apply colour, using special effects paint to add to the movement of the work.
It has taken me many years to finally complete this sculpture to a level where I feel I can do no more, so now it can leave my studio, to find a new home.
“ Warrior Queen “ has great beauty.
Please note, this is a very tall / large sculpture
21 Width x 47 Height x 11.9 Depth inches
64 " x 120 " x 30 " centimetres
All of my works are editions of 1 and most are works- in-progress until the final dot of colour has been added.
