Artist Statement
The point of departure in my work is one of ideas. Through my work, I explore boundaries and definitions of place and identity, focusing on ambivalent situations expressed through images such as bridges, houses, boats, and geographical maps. I frequently examine the relationships between databases, artistic heritage, and cultural belonging. Writing is an integral part of my work, appearing within the plastic work both as a source of ideas and as a visual element. A dialogue between the image, material, and text emerges in my work, moving along the axis between the real and the conceptual.
