Tenmei Kanoh is known as a photographer with a radical style that creates a unique impact, but from around 2010 he also began creating paintings in parallel with his work as a photographer. AWARDS: Japan Advertising Artists Club Award, Asahi Advertising Award, Mainichi Advertising Award, Annual Calendar Award, Poland Poster Award, etc.

Artist Statement

In addition to his more than 60-year career as a photographer, Tenmei has been creating digital art and canvas art since around 2010, and has held numerous exhibitions both domestically and internationally.

Tenmei Kanoh has long prided himself on being a photographer who turns the pages of the times, and he was one of the first to tackle the digitalization of photography. This did not stop at fine-tuning the exposure, but led to the creation of new works by making dramatic changes. Eventually, he moved beyond prints to canvas works with acrylic touches, transitioning to his current style. The "Pink Dog" series in particular exudes a worldview that was unimaginable from Kanoh's previous style, and was met with astonishment by the public.
