Bowl of opalescent art deco style pressed molded glass with motive of Dalia flower, unsigned, but attributed to Pierre D'Avesn. The decorative way in which D’Avesn has used opalescent glass is absolutely exceptional. The different depths of glass and various contrasts between transparent, violet and opaque are pure genius.
French opalescent glass of this quality, displays multiple colours which are usually subjected to the light. The glass changes instantly and able to display a complete colour transformation. It is rare and famous catalog model.
Remarkable about this model is that its pattern may be found to the one used on the box of the Lalique Parfum called "L'AMOUR". The analogy is easy to explain as the design is attributed to Pierre D’Avesn, who worked for Lalique at the beginning of his carrier. There are some tiny natural usage scratches for the object from 1930s (see pictures).
The general condition is excellent, 7cm high, 30 cm diameter.
