Artist Statement
Lauren Acton worked in NYC's fashion district as a print artist until 1993. From there, oil painting became her focus and she started exhibiting her work in 2002. Beginning with something representational- a landscape or still life - she starts there and enters the abstract. Using loose, washy strokes and sometimes oil stick, she seeks to create bright color energy and rhythm!
