The artwork "Intrusive Thought Bubbles" by Eddie McClure is a compelling mixed media piece on canvas that delves into the realm of abstraction with a rich texture and complex layering. The vertical composition is saturated with a symphony of color and form that speaks to the chaos and unpredictability of the mind's fleeting thoughts.
At the top, clusters of circular forms and fragmented patterns suggest the ephemerality of thought bubbles, bursting into existence only to dissipate. These forms are immersed in a sea of blues and greys, perhaps symbolizing the vastness of the human psyche or the overwhelming nature of intrusive thoughts. Splashes of red and strokes of contrasting colors create a sense of urgency and disarray, capturing the essence of intrusion upon the canvas.
The use of dripping paint and the visible traces of aggressive brushwork contribute to a sense of movement and spontaneity, embodying the transient and uncontrollable nature of thoughts. The overlay of colors, the scraping away of layers, and the build-up of media result in a tactile surface that invites the viewer to experience the artwork beyond the visual, to feel the weight of thoughts rendered visible.
In "Intrusive Thought Bubbles," McClure seems to navigate the complexity of mental processes, translating the intangible into a tangible form. The title and the visual elements collaborate to evoke a sense of being overwhelmed and penetrated by unbidden thoughts, a universal human experience articulated through the language of abstract expressionism.

BIOGRAPHY
Hi my name is Eddie McClure, I am based on the gulf coast of Florida, and I do my best to participate in creation. “Self taught” with formal experience, I’ve spent the past 2 decades either working in creative fields or holding a close personal creative expression as a passion. Over the years I’ve found painting to be a place of repose and the most accurate medium to convey and share my multi-sensory experience as well personal commentaries.
Artist Statement: I look to create paintings that are eclectic, colorful, and inspiring. utilizing rhythmic markings, obstructed patterns, vintage ephemera, and transparent mediums to bring subjectivity into visual form. I hope to invoke introspection and personal reflection in the people that see my works. A doorway for them to lead themselves instead of me saying where they should go.
