Each painting in my "Chemical Rapture Collection" was inspired by a different song that hit on all these different types of intimacy. The lyrics of each song are subtle or not so subtle in their delivery of sex and I found it intriguing that it was so in our faces. And I thought “Why can’t I do that with my paintings in an abstract way?”
"I Felt the Pull" is part of my Chemical Rapture collection. Each painting was inspired by a different song that hit on all these different types of intimacy. For this collection, I let the mood, beat, and type of intimacy dictate the color palette, how I chose to paint and the reference photo used.
Inspired by Anderson's East song "Hood of My Car" - with this song, I imagined this young couple feeling intimacy for the first time. A relationship that is just blooming.
