This red form, applied with vigorous brushstrokes that leave a highly textural surface, could be interpreted as a metaphorical representation of wings in motion, perhaps suggesting the energy and intensity of a final, decisive act or moment. The red swathes are vivid and dense, creating a visual and emotional focal point against the otherwise muted background.
The background itself is rendered in neutral grays and whites, with the paint applied in a more subdued manner. The understated background serves to throw the red into sharp relief, and the contrast between the two could be seen as a metaphor for life and vitality against a stark or challenging environment.
The title 'Final Flight' implies a poignant narrative, possibly alluding to a last surge of effort or the end of a journey. The abstract nature of the work allows for multiple interpretations, but the use of upward and outward brushstrokes in the red pigment gives a sense of ascension or release.
Overall, ‘Final Flight’ by John Waski is a powerful piece that combines abstract expressionism with conceptual depth. The simplicity of the color scheme and the dynamic application of paint create a work that is both visually compelling and emotionally resonant.

Artists Statement: “My artistic vision taps into the raw emotion of the human experience, defining the spiritual, naturally occurring and man-made forces that surround us. Drawing upon the combinations of these elements creates solid narrative to express my unique interpretation of life today. I derive inspiration from various forms of mythology, observing people and nature, which is used as a catalyst in developing a body of work. The art attempts to capture a state of being by fusing abstract and representational elements together for a new visual language. Overlaying multiple forms and color I want to create a visual stratigraphic exploration of the subject matter, by building surfaces and layers to expose a sense of time and multi dimensional narratives. Having this dialogue offers a unique commentary exposing the venerability of our relationships with each other and the environment, attempting to achieve a balance of ambiguity and tension within the space that captures a fleeting moment in time. These components of the work manifest through the exploration of evolution and change. With the utilization of selective icons, textures and the human form, I share my perceptive awareness through my art.”
