BIOGRAPHY

Elena Suprema is a contemporary multimedia artist, born and raised in St. Petersburg. In 2012, Elena left Russia and embarked on an extensive journey to various parts of the world. Over the past 10 years, she has visited more than 45 countries. During her travels, she immersed herself in the nuances of local painting, studying under art masters in India, Cambodia, Spain, and Italy. She pursued education at the Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design and the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris. Additionally, she honed her skills with calligraphy masters in Asilah, Morocco, and at an art studio in Bali, Indonesia.

In her artist's statement, Elena expresses, 'I am a figurative artist working in the style of naive art, sharing narratives of my journeys and the evolution of my personality in perceiving this world throughout my travels. The majority of my work focuses on the cultures of diverse peoples, exotic traditions, and local identities. Through my paintings, I aim to reflect the unique diversity of our world, conveying a sense of beauty through colors, utilizing authentic motifs, ornaments, and patterns original visual forms inherent in national symbolism.'

She continues, 'Another aspect of my work delves into self-determination, self-identification, and the manifestation of individuality through one’s perspective on global issues. In this context, I explore the challenge of embracing one’s individuality amid the vast diversity of our world. My personal collection includes paintings from Indonesia, India, and Morocco. Currently, the paintings I create embark on journeys around the world. Each piece is a story told on canvas, with the lives of people behind these stories evoking passion and sparking interest in life.
