The artwork titled '... And Breathe' by David Dunleavy is a textural composition achieved through meticulous hand-cutting and layering of card stock. It showcases a gradient of colors, methodically arranged in horizontal stripes that transition from cool blues at the top to warm greens towards the bottom. The precision of the cut edges and the consistency of the strip widths suggest a deliberate and patient handcrafting process. Each strip of card stock stands slightly apart from its neighbors, creating a subtle interplay of shadow and light that gives the piece a dynamic, almost kinetic quality. The artwork's palette and the title evoke a sense of calm and natural rhythm, reminiscent of breathing or the gentle undulation of waves or rolling hills. The piece is contained within a simple, white frame that accentuates the colors within, and allows the intricacy of the work to stand out. The overall effect is one of serene simplicity and ordered beauty, emphasizing the artist's control over the medium and the meditative process of creation.

Married to the wonderful Wesley who gives me room to explore all the tangents. Together we are amazed and delighted on a daily basis with our beautiful daughters. Originally from Galway on the wild west coast of Ireland, I now live in Los Angeles. My friends would say I'm the last person to have a creative artistic side but I've been a non-practicing artist all my life. My engineering mind informs the construction of my 3-dimensional and highly textured paper art pieces. It has me taken a long time to share my work; I hope you enjoy it!
