Orange with blue abstract painting
Artist: Alina Odwyer
Certification of Authenticity: Apricus Art Collection

This abstract structural painting, inspired by Mark Rothko, integrates my concept of a flat blue acrylic background juxtaposed with orange oil painting applied with a palette knife, imparting volume and structure to the piece. The orange rectangular section of the artwork features a grid design with a harmonious blend of colors reminiscent of sunset hues by the seaside—a moment evoking pure happiness and relaxation upon witnessing it.
The blue section, characterized by cold blue tones, draws inspiration from the snow-covered grids of Russia from my childhood—a landscape both beautiful and subtly treacherous. Through layers of oil paint, I imbue the artwork with my fascination for universal balance and energies, creating a synthesis of visual elements that invite contemplation and reflection.
This art work is a mixed media painting with pallet knife on a canvas and has been coated with a layer of professional varnish to protect it from sunlight and dust, measures 50 by 60 cm on a streched wooden canvas.
