I’m Jovanitha, a happy artist currently living in France. I believe that we are our happiest when we are our truest. That's how I decided to quit my job as a lawyer and to become a full time artist.
I found in art a place where I could (finally!) be free to be my true self. As an Asperger, I've been masking most of my adult's life, copying people's behaviour. Art helps me to love and celebrate my uniqueness.
I make art to experience stillness and stop the ruminating loop of thoughts. It helps me to slow down and be fully present. I hope that my art brings you too a little bit of happiness 😊
Artist Statement
Jovanitha Le Long paints mainly still life aka food. Her style can be described as weird and fun. Her expressive compositions consist of simple lines and bold colours, outlined in black. She uses only pure colours, no mixing. Le Long strives to capture the essence of the subject matter until it results in a living harmony of colours.
Jovanitha paints to break the ruminating loop of thoughts and to experience stillness. She draws inspiration from her daily life and all the things that make her happy. She has been featured in multiple blogs and publications, including The Purposeful Mayonnaise, Art Feeds Souls, Create Magazine and Arts to Hearts Magazine. Her work has been exhibited internationally, in Philadelphia, London, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
She lives in a small town in the north of France with her handsome husband, their little boy and teenage girl and two adorable cats.
