Jerry Simcock

BIOGRAPHY

Jerry lives in Scotland, near Edinburgh. He enjoys painting in oils, gouache and water colour. His main interest is in colour and space and is often a spontaneous action and response to light and landscapes. Experimenting with colour and attuning to its vibrancies is a core practice. He starts most days in painting rapidly in a ten minute burst as a warm up for other work and these quick ‘splashabouts’ often inform his more considered oil paintings. He has been meditating for years and often works with images or colours that appear in meditation. He is a zen practitioner and enjoys working with ‘what comes up’.
