BIOGRAPHY
David Åberg (b. 1977) is an artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. David’s work merges traditional sculpting principles with modern digital technology, which manifests as animations and 3D-printed objects.
Artist Statement
David invites the viewer into a constantly evolving and captivating voyage. Drawing inspiration from the sci-fi and fantasy world, with their elevated concept of beauty, his work is a quest to blur the lines between dream and reality, inviting the viewer to question the limits of their own perception. David’s work references art history and contemporaries alike, while also making allusions to the modern popular culture from advertising to the fashion and beauty industry. Mixing ancient mythology with contemporary culture gives these stories a modern upgrade, while simultaneously honoring the very nature of these myths, pointing to the eternal – a world outside of time and space.
