Chiayin Lee

BIOGRAPHY

Chiayin Lee is from Taiwan and currently residing in Brittany, France. At a pivotal moment in life, she chose to engage in artistic creation, embodying the words of Simone de Beauvoir: “I accept the greatest adventure of being me.”

As a person who loves the ocean, she gets inspired by the pretty Japanese dry landscape gardens and the stunning coastal views. The artist uses ink and gansai (Japanese watercolor) to create artistic rock formations and islands, making modern sumi-e paintings. Rice paper and a brush are reliable tools for her thoughts and feelings. By strategically incorporating whitespace in my artwork, she wants to invite people to join me on a peaceful journey in Zen.
