Chaitali Chatterjee is an artist both by instinct and training, hailing from the Eastern Indian state of Bengal, known for its rich artistic traditions. Her interest in painting was sparked at an early age through the practice of rangoli, traditional designs made on floors and walls. Chaitali has won awards in numerous national and international painting competitions during her school years. She received formal training at Delhi’s College of Art, where she learned under some of India's leading painters, including Manjit Singh Bawa, Bimal Dasgupta, and Bishwanath Mukherjee. Initially specializing in commercial art, Chaitali worked as a freelance commercial artist for many years before taking up oil-on-canvas painting seriously in 2006. Since then, she has created over 150 paintings, with more than three-fourths sold. Her imaginative use of space and colors is a hallmark of her work. Chaitali has held thirteen solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. Her paintings have been sold globally, including in Germany, the USA, Bangladesh, Australia, and Vietnam. A series of her paintings is on display at the International Lincoln Association for the International Lincoln Center, Louisiana State University, USA.
