Walter Adler's art and writing capture the explicit violence of a world that many Americans are unaware of. His manuscripts aim to craft a future America where the violence of past and present times is evident. Each manuscript is from a different period, using those he has known well to paint the blackness of misery in the world beyond our gates and the aspirations of the refugees who arrive here. Walter's life has been punctuated by other people's violence, from his coming-of-age years in Israel during the second Intifada to his experiences in the FDNY and his work with Kurdish movements in Iraq and Syria. His work is influenced by New York Noire Futurism and Post Soviet Realism, and he strives to capture the stories of those he has loved and struggled beside.
