The Artistic Journey of Uzony

Uzony (b. 1963) grew up in Debrecen, Hungary, where he continues to live and work. He graduated from the University of Debrecen, specializing in the history of art, having studied under the renowned artist Árpád Bényi. He received his degree in 1988 and studied painting technique with the French artist Gilbert Lupfer. Uzony won First Prize at the inter-university painting contest of 1988 and soon held his own exhibitions in Hamburg, Karlsruhe, and Langenbach. His study trips to Paris, Milan, and Prague influenced his work, with impressionist painters having a major impact on his paintings. Over the past two decades, he has held more than 30 exhibitions, with his paintings acquired by collectors from Japan to the USA. In 2013, Uzony won the gold medal in the West East Gallery (Canada). In recent years, he discovered the teachings of Eckhart Tolle and studied the natural forms of the world of fractals, which inspired his abstract paintings. Over the last 10 years, he has gradually turned to abstract thinking, especially the abstract representation of nature. Uzony has achieved great success at the exhibitions of the Paris Salon, winning the special prize of the jury in 2017, and exhibiting again in 2018 and 2022.
