Born into an artist family and growing up in postwar Munich, Germany, Sigrun Hukill's life was surrounded by art from the start. Her father was a sculptor who worked in stone, and her mother painted flowers. Being taken to art museums and galleries from a young age gave her a tremendous appreciation for fine arts and a deep respect for artists. Despite her many travels across Europe's vibrant cities, the American continent, and the hidden islands of the Pacific, it was not until she met her husband, Jeff Hukill, a great artist and painter, that she found the inspiration to enroll in a sculpture class. There, she discovered her love for clay, which immediately became her medium. It was as if a divine hand had ignited the flame of creativity within her, and now the fire of being an artist burns brightly in her heart.
