Article: The Artistic Journey of Michael K Davis

The Artistic Journey of Michael K Davis

Michael K Davis is primarily a 2-D visual artist specializing in charcoal portraiture, oil painting, and digital art. He studied in the classical atelier style at London College of Fine Art Studios under Mark Chen and Domino Roe. This training has been essential in developing stillness and patience alongside technique. As an emergent artist at the beginning of his exhibiting career, Michael has always had a passion for drawing. A significant aspect of his work explores the relationship between the human form and earth-derived, organic elements. This exploration results in contemporary digital images that incorporate hand-drawn and painted elements with abstractions, such as crystallized minerals. His range of mural prints with geodes grew from early experimentation, and much of his work delves into the timelessness of early cultural aesthetics, particularly black civilizations. Michael works out of a studio in Hastings, which he shares with his wife.
