The Artistic Journey of Mark Granlund

Mark Granlund received a Masters of Fine Arts degree in painting and drawing from The City University of New York at Brooklyn College. His career has been dedicated to art education and administration, where he has taught, advised, and stewarded arts communities and public art collections. Currently, Granlund is the Public Art Administrator for Metro Transit in the Twin Cities. Grounded in a respect for Nature, he prioritizes working with eco-friendly materials, including eco-sensitive paints and finishing products, organic cotton or linen, and sustainable lumber for his stretchers and frames. His deep connection to the natural world is reflected in his artistic practice, where he seeks to capture the authenticity of complex environments through his paintings.
