Joel DeGrand (1944–2022) was a dedicated fine art photographer with a profound ability to capture the world through his lens. From a young age, Joel was drawn to photography, beginning with a Polaroid camera he won at age 13. His career spanned decades, during which he taught art and photography from 1968 to 2016. Joel's educational background includes an MFA in photography from the University of Oregon and a BS in Art Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his life, he participated in numerous exhibitions and workshops both in the United States and internationally. His work is part of many prestigious collections, and he self-published 17 photography books, winning numerous awards, including a National Endowment for the Arts grant.
