Born in Izmir, Erdinç Babat completed his undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting. After graduation, he worked in Izmir for a while before moving to Istanbul in 2010. Babat held his first personal exhibition in 2000 and has since opened twelve personal exhibitions and participated in over thirty group exhibitions and art fairs in Turkey, Austria, and the Czech Republic. His work addresses the emptiness, loneliness, and dilemmas in the inner world, the chaos that seeks an exit on the surface, and the simultaneous experiences of existence and annihilation. The fast pace of technological development and renewal directs him to constantly question and restructure his approach. He works with a variety of materials such as paper, canvas, wood, and different metals, transforming them with the influence of light.
