The Artistic Journey of David Abelson

David Abelson, born in Ottawa, Ontario, is a distinguished artist whose journey in the art world began with his graduation from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto in 1980. His passion for art led him to receive the prestigious Greenshields grant, allowing him to study at the Paris American Academy in France in 1981. In 1984, he was awarded the Canadian/Scandinavian grant to paint on Gotland, Sweden, where the Forsnal Museum in Visby acquired one of his paintings. David has showcased his work in over a dozen galleries across New York, Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. His participation in the World Wood Festival at the Long Beach Convention Center in Los Angeles in 2017 highlights his versatility and commitment to the art community. David's work is a rich blend of colors akin to expressionism, depicting dreams, magical fantasies, and a timeless quality. His collages feature overlapping worlds swirling into one, offering a unique visual experience.
