The Artistic Journey of Charlotte Eder
Charlotte Eder grew up in Överkalix, a small community in northern Sweden, in a family where art and culture were integral to everyday life. Her father, Josef, was an artist who fled Austria for Sweden in 1938 to avoid being drafted into World War II. He worked with wood sculpting and reliefs, and Charlotte was deeply involved in his creative process as a child. This upbringing naturally led her to painting, but not before she conducted extensive language studies in Vienna and Moscow. After completing her university degree, Charlotte focused on international business development and export before fully embracing her passion for painting. With over twenty years as an artist, she is entirely self-taught yet highly quality-conscious about her materials. Her work is driven by a desire to learn and experiment with each painting. Charlotte's art often depicts motifs of trees, sky, water, stones, flowers, and occasionally birds, using a unique technique of colorizing photographs to create a three-dimensional quality.
