The Artistic Journey of Blackson Fernando Afonso

Blackson Fernando Afonso, born in 1983 in Uíge, Angola, has lived in Portugal since the age of eight. He pursued his studies in Painting in Budapest from 2009 to 2012, followed by Architecture in Lisbon, where he currently resides and works. Since 2016, Blackson's work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including prestigious venues such as Concept Fashion Design, Casa de Angola, UCCLA, and the VII Bienal de Culturas Lusófonas. His exhibitions have spanned various locations, including the IPDJ gallery in Coimbra, NOT A MUSEUM, and Espaço Santa Catarina. In 2022, his work was featured in "Happy Blues" at Espelho D'água, Lisbon, and he is set to exhibit in "Between Two Waters" at Underdogs Gallery, Lisbon, in 2024. Blackson's art is represented in private collections both in Portugal and internationally.
