Alan D. Singer, a distinguished painter and printmaker, was born in New York City. He studied at the Art Students League and graduated with a BFA from The Cooper Union. His graduate studies began at Cornell University, where he earned an MFA, and he also attended summer programs at Yale University, Boston University, and the Skowhegan School of Art in Maine. With over thirty solo shows, Alan is not only a prolific artist but also an author and writer on visual arts. His blog, "The Visual ArtWorker," has over 440 entries, reflecting his deep engagement with the art community. Alan is a retired Professor from the School of Art at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he inspired many students.
