🎨 Jean Fourton’s Monumental Painting Installed at the Entrance of Tours University
Le Retour des Possibles” — Where Possibility Returns
The Apricus team is proud to celebrate one of our French collaborators, Jean Fourton, whose monumental painting has been officially installed at the entrance of Tours University in France.
This impressive 4.5-meter-long work now resides in visual dialogue with a sculpture by the legendary American artist Alexander Calder—a rare and powerful pairing that merges legacy with innovation.
✨ New Baroque: A Style Rooted in Nature and Meaning
Jean Fourton introduces us to what he calls a “new baroque” — a visual language grounded in natural materials and psychological depth. The piece is composed of natural pigments on jute textiles, allowing raw textures to carry layers of philosophical symbolism.
At the heart of this work lies a single motif: the letter “a.”
In Fourton’s words, “Everything starts here. Psychanalytically, every desire begins with the letter ‘a’.”
💬 A Title of Hope
The painting is titled “Le Retour des Possibles” —
Translation: “When What Is Possible Comes Back”
This phrase is not just a name; it’s a message. A poetic reflection on optimism, renewal, and the ever-present potential for change.
