Elizabeth Castagna at the Dorsky Museum – Movement Drawing as Performance

Apricus artist Elizabeth Castagna recently participated in the exhibition "MOVEMENT" for Hudson Valley Artists, curated by artist Ransome, held at the Dorsky Museum.

As part of the show, Elizabeth led a compelling movement drawing workshop — a live performance blending motion, mark-making, and presence. This workshop was not only an extension of her visual practice, but also an invitation for embodied storytelling through gesture and improvisation.

🖌️ Held in late March 2025, the performance embraced the body as both subject and tool — translating physical movement directly into visual form.

💬 A Living Practice

Elizabeth’s work exists at the intersection of drawing, dance, and mindfulness. Through intuitive linework and improvisational movement, she invites viewers and participants alike into a shared moment of vulnerability and creation.

This workshop reflects Elizabeth’s evolving interest in process-driven art, and highlights her role as not only an artist, but a facilitator of artistic experience.
