Dive into Daydreams with Jillian Zepeda's "So Pretend"
Apricus Art Collection is excited to feature "So Pretend," a captivating acrylic on canvas piece by the imaginative artist Jillian Zepeda. Part of her thought-provoking "Chemical Rapture Collection," this artwork invites you to explore the realm of fantasy and desire through abstract expression.
A Visual Fantasy Unveiled
"So Pretend" is more than just a painting; it's a glimpse into a daydream. Inspired by Harry Styles' song "She," Zepeda's piece captures the essence of a fantasy – a guy dreaming about a girl he can't have or hasn't even met. Through abstract forms and colors, she depicts the imagined intimacy of this connection.
Zepeda's Inspiration
Zepeda's "Chemical Rapture Collection" aims to explore sex and intimacy as presented in music lyrics. “Each painting in my 'Chemical Rapture Collection' was inspired by a different song that hit on all these different types of intimacy," she explains. "The lyrics of each song are subtle or not so subtle in their delivery of sex and I found it intriguing that it was so in our faces. And I thought ‘Why can’t I do that with my paintings in an abstract way?’”
